On the development of the new generic Top-Level Domain name program (new gTLDs)

  • It was observed that there is more cybersquatting than innovation which brand owners are likely to overlook, especially among internationalized domain names (IDNs).
  • Trademark owners registered under the Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH) can opt-in for the free ongoing notification services.
  • Trademark owners are also encouraged to actively participate in upcoming reviews of the new gTLD program and Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP).
